Dan Retires

Incorporating old-school TFNers Becky, Heather and Drew into William’s toast to Dan on the occasion of his retirement:

Upon Dan’s hiring in 2004, Becky Pastner thought:

[H]e was a legit grown up with legit grown-up skills. I was a child so maybe that was part of it, but (he was) always thoughtful, articulate, dedicated, and just fun to work with. Congratulations, Dan! Texas is better off because of you.

Heather Alden remembers:

Dan naming all the far-right figures ‘grand pooh bah’ of the far right.

Drew Dupuy (TFN ’02-03) adds:

Even though Dan and I didn’t even overlap at TFN, we’ve grown as close as many of the folks I actually worked with there. During one of my 603 short-term comms/press gigs in the Aughts, he kindly invited me to a gaggle of other Austin-based comms directors and press secretaries, which I really appreciated. It’s been great meeting up with him and Ryan Valentine for lunch or drinks during my return trips to Austin over the past many years. Congrats, Dan!

And not to be forgotten . . .
